Position Profile: Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) – Saskatoon and the University of Saskatchewan (U of S), Department of Pediatrics, College of Medicine seek a Metabolic Specialist Physician. This is a position with the opportunity to provide services on a full-time or part-time, permanent or locum basis, dependent upon the interest of the candidate. The position provides physicians with protected time for clinical, administrative and academic duties. The successful candidate will provide specialist consultative services and will participate in developing and guiding strategies for improving the health and health care of Saskatchewan adults and children.
The successful candidate will provide a wide range of Metabolic services for both pediatric and adult patients. These services include in-patient and outpatient care, targeted analysis including cytogenetic, molecular and metabolic investigations and ongoing treatment and management of Metabolic disorders. The program provides reproductive (including preconception and prenatal) counselling services through partnership with the Medical Genetics clinic.
As part of the Metabolics team, the successful candidate will anticipate the impact of a specific diagnosis for the patient and their family as well as educate them about the results of investigations and possible diagnoses. The Metabolics team makes recommendations and referrals as necessary to ensure families have access to appropriate medical and social services.
Qualifications/Requirements of the position: Candidates in consideration must hold CCMG certification or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) certification or eligibility for certification in Medical Genetics and Genomics with training and/or experience in Metabolics. Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS).

Compensation: F/T contract $ 413,005.00 to $ 471,277.00 & P/T contract would be pro-rated based on FTE provided
