Responsibilities

As a member of the Management Team to oversee and manage the Community Residential Facility (CRF), provide supervision and direction to Community Resource Coordinators and ensure that policies and procedures of The Salvation Army as well as the Contractual obligations and standards as per Correctional Services Canada (CSC) and Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) are being adhered to as authorized and delegated by the CRF Director. The successful candidate will specifically supervise the CRC dept, CBSA program and all applications/in-reach activities in addition to participating in the Management Team on-call rotation.

Qualifications

  • The successful applicant will have completed two years or more of Community College or equivalent experience in a community-based facility, preferably in some field of corrections
  • Supervisory experience considered an asset
  • Acceptance of The Salvation Army Mission Statement, Code of Ethics, Tolerance and compassion for individuals of diverse social and cultural backgrounds
  • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess effective conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Have the ability to intervene effectively in crisis situations and use authority constructively
  • Posses the capacity to assess parolee needs and risks and the ability to assist them with their efforts at reintegration
  • Must possess excellent attention to detail
  • Must be very reliable, with an excellent history of positive attendance

Successful candidate will be required to provide upon hiring:

  • A clear reliability screening
  • A clean drivers abstract
  • Participate in our online Armatus Abuse Training and Health and Safety training required upon hiring, as well as updated annually
  • Valid Emergency First Aid / CPR
  • Proof of relevant education / training

HOURS: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
