Founded in 1989, DeafBlind Ontario Services is a not-for-profit organization that helps individuals who are deafblind increase their independence and improve their quality of life through specialized services. With residential locations and community services programs across the province, their services extend into a wide range of communities in Ontario.

Job Duties

  • Assists with development client goals pick list
  • Update community resource list on the server and program resource binder (with local activities for programming)
  • Videotape the clients calendars and experience tools
  • Create a tutorial on how to navigate Sharevision in collaboration with Program Module Developing “kits” for trifold boards calendars/exp tools/adapted environments/ O&M/ TCA/ sensory integration
  • Researching items and sourcing pictures/photos
  • Preparing signs
  • Repairing/making experience tool examples
  • Reviewing and organizing inventory
  • Developing LSQ sign cards for training
  • Researching and updating community resources/activity list for A2E members
  • Assist in developing tools for training
  • Researching resources for services
  • Other duties as assigned


To be eligible for this position through the Canada Summer Jobs initiative, you
