Registered Dental Hygienist (Orthodontics)

Location: Algonquin Orthodontics, Huntsville, Ontario

Algonquin Orthodontics is seeking immediate employment for a dynamic and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our excellent team in Huntsville. Our practice is dedicated to providing exceptional orthodontic care, and we’re looking for a candidate who shares our commitment to patient satisfaction and orthodontic excellence. While we welcome candidates with a special interest in orthodontics and a willingness to be trained on the job, those with previous orthodontic experience will be given preference. Responsibilities will include band fitting, fixed and removable appliance insertion, bracketing, and clear aligner attachment bonding. You will also be responsible for providing patients with detailed instructions on oral hygiene and appliance use, all while maintaining a high standard of care and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality dental hygiene care in accordance with professional standards.
• Perform band fitting, fixed and removable appliance insertion, and bracketing of standard orthodontic appliances.
• Provide clear aligner attachment bonding procedures and evaluations.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and proper appliance use.
• Maintain patient records and documentation using dental software.
• Adhere to safety and sterilization protocols within the practice.

Requirements:

• Valid dental hygiene license in Ontario.
• HARP radiographic certification and ability to take panoramic and lateral cephalometric radiographs.
• Experience in orthodontics is highly preferred, but a strong willingness to learn is acceptable.
• Proficient in band fitting, fixed/removable appliances, and clear aligner bonding.
• Ability to provide thorough patient instruction on oral hygiene and appliance use.
• Comfortable using a PC and basic dental software.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented and patient-centered approach.
• Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
