Overall Purpose of the Job

Reporting to Head of Sales, the BDM will primarily be responsible for building new account relations, identifying new business prospects, and secure new business contracts for Medical Services Canada.

This is a hybrid position based out of our Calgary office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and secure prospective clients to drive new business acquisition target achievement
  • Acquire an in-depth understanding of clients. Market segments of key interest are oil and gas, energy, construction, mining, and other remote workplaces
  • Understand customer needs, requirements, and market trends. Identify buying influences and develop contacts at the highest appropriate levels within target clients and prospects
  • Grow and manage a pipeline of opportunities in the CRM system (Salesforce.com). Report as requested on business development and new opportunities
  • Ensure professional representation of International SOS at client and industry specific functions and maximize networking opportunities
  • Coordination of internal stake holders and strong technical writing experience for RFP proposals

General Responsibilities

  • Balance the ongoing need to manage the long-term strategy of key opportunities while delivering on the current requirements of the business.
  • Continually evaluate progress within the market segment against sales pipeline objectives, revenue, and profit targets and client account plans
  • Ensure the professional standard of all written client proposals, tender documents, and communication is adhered to, in line with company standards and pricing procedures
  • Meet and exceed sales targets

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a sales role with a track record of achievement
  • Five (5) years B2B sales experience a must.
  • Prior consultative sales experience with senior management
  • Educated to University level
  • English/French Bilingual preferred
  • Clean Driver's Abstract

Required Behavioural Skills

The successful incumbent will be a seasoned closer, negotiator and strategic thinker with experience engaging with various stakeholders at the corporate and field level. Excellent time management skills and the ability to work both autonomously and within a team are necessary for success. Strong communication skills (presenting and listening) are also required. A background in working with indigenous communities would be a strong asset.

Work Location

This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of 2 days per week in our Calgary office or as business needs dictate.

Local Calgary candidates preferred.
