Certified Dental Assistant Level II - Part-Time, Maternity Leave Coverage Nia Dental Studio | Barrie, Ontario Part-Time | Minimum 12-Month Maternity Leave Coverage Schedule We're looking for a Certified Level II Dental Assistant to join our team on a consistent part-time schedule: Tuesday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Wednesday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Alternating Fridays: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM Start date: As soon as possible Contract length: Minimum 12 months, with the possibility of extension depending on the timing of the team member's return and practice needs. This position is an existing vacancy created by a maternity leave. Your responsibilities will include: Providing chairside assistance during a variety of dental procedures Preparing operatories, instruments, materials, and equipment before procedures Anticipating the needs of the dentist throughout treatment Taking and processing digital dental radiographs in accordance with applicable requirements Maintaining accurate patient records and clinical information using Dentrix Supporting digital dental workflows Assisting with CEREC and digital restorative workflows where applicable Following current infection prevention and control protocols Maintaining clean, organized, properly stocked, and fully prepared treatment rooms Assisting with instrument processing and sterilization as required Providing patients with clear pre-operative and post-operative instructions Helping patients feel comfortable, informed, and cared for throughout their appointments Supporting efficient patient flow and communication between the clinical and administrative teams Contributing to a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment What We're Looking For Required Graduate of a recognized Dental Assisting program Certified Dental Assistant Level II qualifications appropriate for intra-oral duties NDAEB certification, where required for Level II duties HARP-approved qualification for dental radiography Current CPR certification Strong chairside assisting skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Excellent attention to detail Reliable, professional, and punctual Ability to work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of patient care Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team Preferred 2+ years of dental assisting experience Experience using Dentrix CEREC experience Experience with digital dentistry and intraoral scanning Experience assisting with restorative and cosmetic dentistry Experience assisting with endodontic procedures Experience with implants, oral surgery, or other advanced procedures Experience with all of the above is not required. Requirements
Applicants must have graduated from a recognized Dental Assisting program and hold Certified Dental Assistant Level II qualifications, including NDAEB certification where required, HARP-approved radiography qualifications, and current CPR certification. Strong chairside, communication, organizational, and teamwork skills are required; two or more years of experience and familiarity with Dentrix, CEREC, and digital dentistry are preferred.
