Registered Practical Nurse, RPN We are dedicated to providing safe, friendly and professional care for our residents. 1 Full Time: Permanent & 2 Part-Time: Casual Current Status: Vacant Hourly Wage to Start: $25.18 Location: Oshawa, ON Start Date: August 31, 2026 Hours of Work: 3pm-11pm, 9am-5pm. Every other weekend required Qualifications Current certificate of competence as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario Certified in Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and First Aid. Must obtain a feeding certificate and Food Handlers Certificate. Lift Training is an asset. Must have good leadership, communication skills. Maintains and upgrades nursing skills through ongoing courses and seminars and/or through self-study. Required to complete Orientation and all ORCA and in house training courses. Must be flexible to work all shifts where required. A good team player Experience working in a gerontology setting will be an asset Responsibilities Assesses residents’ conditions by recognizing signs and symptoms and takes appropriate action. Provide nursing care, if applicable, in accordance with established policies, physicians order and nursing standards. Responsible for safe keeping of drug and narcotic keys if responsible for medication administration. Responsible for administration of medications and treatments as ordered by resident's physician within his/her limitations and ensures proper documentation is maintained. Accurately maintains resident records and required documentation in accordance with policies and procedures and legislation. Assists to develop and maintain up to date individual resident care plans. Monitors safety issues such as the presence of residents in the home, abuse, safe working methods and conditions, follow up to staff injury, etc., as per appropriate policy. Maintains effective communication and good interpersonal relations with medical and allied staff, families and other departments. Deals tactfully and courteously with residents, residents’ families, visitors and other professionals and staff members at all times. Provides first aid to staff in emergencies, completes all required reports and provides copies to Director of Care and/or General Manager as directed.
