Your Opportunity: Reporting to the Manager of ER, the Licensed Practical Nurse performs a variety of nursing duties in a fast-paced, high stress environment. The successful candidate will administer safe and effective nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and nursing care standards. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. The shift hours for this position are 07:30 – 19:45 and 19:30 – 07:45. Description: As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications: Minimum 3 years recent acute care experience Minimum 2 years recent ER experience Connect Care Experience As required Preferred Qualifications: Recent 2 years ER experience.

Requirements
Candidates must have an accredited practical nurse education and active registration with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta. A minimum of 3 years of acute care and 2 years of ER experience, along with BCLS-HCP certification, is required.
