Housed within the South Cariboo Health Centre, the hospital offers services including surgical, inpatient and emergency. As a member of the Medical Laboratory Assistant team, you will perform a variety of duties in accessioning, outpatients, and hospital collections. Typically, this involves a lot of patient interaction through collecting blood and other specimens, preparing blood and specimens for analysis, sample processing and send out to outside Labs. Your responsibilities will also include using the Laboratory Information System (LIS), Holter monitor set-up and placement and ECG testing and some other clerical duties. As a valued member of the team, you will have an immediate impact on the delivery of high-quality care. Lab services is a tight knit group, and we pride ourselves on supporting one another in the Lab, and across the facility. This is a Casual opportunity. Casual means hours are not guaranteed and may vary and shifts may be at short notice. Casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent and temporary positions.
