This is accomplished by assisting in establishing and maintaining best practice; assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating unit orientation, clinical training and other educational programming; assessing learning needs; acting as a clinical resource; promoting client and family centered care; participating in committee work as assigned; participating in continuous improvement activities; developing and maintaining client and staff resources. The CNE will function as a member of the interprofessional clinical team to promote effective delivery of client care in the SHA, including direction and regular communication from the clinical area manager(s).The clinical nurse educator is a self-directed practitioner with strong communication skills who works in collaboration with interdisciplinary members to promote quality client and family centered care and cultural competence. The clinical nurse educator is an experienced practitioner with expert clinical knowledge and skills.The Clinical Nurse educator is an educator, clinical leader, change agent, facilitator, and consultant.
