Position #: 202416 Expected Start Date: October 04, 2026 Union: SUN Facility: Irene & Les Dube Centre for Mental Health City/Town: Saskatoon Department: Mental Health & Addiction Serv Combined Nursing Unit Child & Youth - Dube Type: Part-time temporary Expected Up to Date: October 04, 2027 FTE: 0.47 Shift Information: Days, Nights, Weekends Number of Hours per Rotation: 18 shifts of 11.78 hours per 12 weeks Relief: No Float: No Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Nurse A $38.580 to $50.070 Travel Required: No Job Description: The Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RN/RPN) is responsible for promoting the Mission, Vision and Values of the Saskatchewan Health Authority through provision of safe quality nursing care to clients. The RN/RPN is responsible to the Manager of their designated area. The RN/RPN should have foundational knowledge of a holistic model of care that guides the work of a mental health nurse. The RN/RPN should be proficient in de-escalation strategies, conflict resolution, and the ethical and trauma informed responsibilities required to serve a vulnerable population ranging from youth to geriatric patients. The RN/RPN should be comfortable with client advocacy while working with an interdisciplinary team. The RN/RPN should be flexible in the assigned environment and patient assignment throughout the acute in-patient facility. Requirements
Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing diploma and be registered or eligible for registration with the relevant Saskatchewan nursing colleges. Additional requirements include Basic Life Support certification and proficiency in de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques.
