The Registered Nurse A is responsible for maintaining a high standard of patient care in accordance with the vision, mission and philosophy of the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region. As a member of The Nursing Department, The Registered Nurse A has the responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive client centered care. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience * 3 years acute care nursing including 1 year recent Emergency nursing required Education * Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) * Current registration with CRNS and current BCLS certification. Other Education and Training * Required to complete an Adult Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners training * Required to be SANE certified and maintain that certification * Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) * Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) or other trauma assessment course desired Competencies * Capability to lead self: Demonstrates character * Communication skills to provide/obtain verbal and/or written opinions/advice * Sound clinical judgment skills * Ability to work in a team environment Knowledge and Abilities * Ability to perform technical emergency nursing duties with skill and competence * Ability to deal tactfully, non-judgmentally and effectively with people * Ability to maintain a positive attitude and pleasant manner. * Ability to identify needs of sexually assaulted patients in a timely manner * Ability to operate related equipment & carry out the duties of the position * Committed to own professional growth and development * Demonstrated ability to use sound clinical judgement * Ability to use compassionate sensitive approach relating to victims & families * Participates in continuous quality improvement activities * ability to communicate effectively with staff, physicians, families.
