The Registered Nurse will work in collaboration with families, other staff members of HSN, as well with our community partners. Standard Qualifications: A graduate from an approved School of Nursing (university or community college) with a current certificate of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario Required Qualifications: Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support BCLS Current certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Demonstrated knowledge in clinical counselling/treatment skills Proven knowledge of psychotropic medication Valid driver’s license with access to vehicle Experience: Minimum of 3 years full-time equivalent experience (within the last 5 years) in clinical counselling/treatment services and psychiatric nursing (community experience preferred) General Skills: Excellent communication , organizational and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to problem-solve and make independent decisions Client/family teaching skills Evidence of practice based upon recovery principles Evidence of working collaboratively with other providers and agencies to deliver coordinated care Proven knowledge of the Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation Proven knowledge of addictions and stages of change Ability to work flexible hours, according to client/family needs Computer skills including Microsoft Office software, and Meditech Client Service OE Selection Process: Candidates will be selected for this position on the basis of their skill, ability, experience and qualifications as identified in the resume and completed Application Form submitted.
