The Department of Health is responsible for health services and social programming in Nunavut. Staff at the Department of Health work to improve the health and well-being of Nunavummiut by addressing the differing needs of each community through culturally appropriate programs and services. Reporting to the Territorial Health Education Manager, the Clinical Nurse Educator works with nursing service managers to identify nursing competencies in all areas of nursing services (medical, surgical, pediatric, obstetric, emergency, ambulatory, operating room nursing services), assisting managers with the assessment of nursing practices, identify learning need providing clinical expertise, and teaching and/or coordinating teaching orientation.

The Clinical Nurse Educator identifies nursing competencies across various medical services and assists managers with practice assessments. They provide clinical expertise and coordinate teaching and orientation for nursing staff.

Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing and at least three years of broad-based clinical experience, specifically in obstetrics, pediatrics, and critical care. Candidates must be eligible for registration with CANNN and pass a criminal record and vulnerable sector check.
