Description: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating in the delivery of holistic care and support to patients/residents and families. The LPN practices to full scope, applying professional nursing knowledge, clinical judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills to support safe care and positive health outcomes. Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required. Additional Required Qualifications: One year (within the last 2 years) of maternal-newborn experience and/or successful completion (within the last 2 years) of a preceptorship in postpartum/antepartum. Preferred Qualifications: Two years of recent (within the past two years) acute care experience is required, with surgical experience considered an asset. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is preferred. A solid understanding of the Baby-Friendly Initiative is preferred. Experience with Connect Care, including the Stork application, is considered an asset.

The LPN provides holistic, person-centered care and support to patients and families within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Responsibilities include coordinating care activities, mentoring staff and students, and contributing to patient safety initiatives.

Requires a Practical Nursing diploma, active registration with the CLHNA, and Basic Life Support certification. Candidates must have one year of maternal-newborn experience or a relevant preceptorship within the last two years.
