Position Summary Reporting to the Clinical Manager, Integrated Stroke Unit, the successful applicant will be responsible for comprehensive nursing care throughout the BCHS and must meet the following criteria. Mandatory Qualifications Graduate of an accredited college nursing program Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification Experience in Neuroscience, Inpatient Stroke and Rehabilitation (minimum 1 year) Core Competencies Excellent patient assessment skills Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a team focus Self-directed individual with the ability to work both independently and within an inter-professional team Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professionalism in nursing Creative problem solver with a customer focus and patient friendly approach Proven critical thinking skills Ability to multitask and set priorities in a rapidly changing environment Well-developed negotiation and conflict resolution skills Ability to be a coach, teacher and mentor to colleagues and students Ability to establish work relationships with external partners Reliable individual with excellent attendance record Demonstrated interest in stroke Safety (patient, worker & workplace) is a BCHS Corporate Priority. The successful applicant will demonstrate good stewardship in the identification, reporting and mitigation of unsafe acts or conditions. Requirements

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited college nursing program, registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario, and BCLS certified. A minimum of one year of experience in Neuroscience, Inpatient Stroke, and Rehabilitation is required.
