Assist nursing staff with patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, including support with activities of daily living that do not involve exposure to bodily fluids or fluid-containing devices. Provide patient transport and mobility assistance, sitter duties, and visual monitoring.

Summary Assists the nursing staff in delivery of patient care according to BayCare role specific responsibilities and as directed by the Registered Nurse (RN). Assists with activities of daily living without purposefully encountering any body fluids (i.e. blood, urine, stool, saliva, emesis, etc.) or any devices that contain body fluids (such as but not limited to urinary catheters, nasogastric tubes, drains, used basins, IV catheters, IV tubing, wounds, specimens, blood products, etc.). Performs patient transport assistance within the hospital, mobility assistance, sitter duties, and visual monitoring. Minimum Qualifications Other information: Required Qualifications: Completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire. Standard WELLE® training is required. Must complete Nurse Helper training class prior to orientation on the nursing unit. What you’ll do

Requirements

Complete Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire and complete the required Nurse Helper training class before orientation on the nursing unit. Standard WELLE training is also required.
