Practice is guided by CLPNA, Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada (ORNAC), and CSA Standards of Practice, with a strong emphasis on hands-on skill, accountability, and evidence-based care. In a rural environment, the LPN/ORT plays an essential role supporting patients before, during, and after surgery and contributing to a culture of safety, respect, and collaboration. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications: Post-Grad Perioperative Certification required. Or completion of a CLPNA approved perioperative course. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with orthopedic, urology, gynecological, obstetrical - delivery/c-sections. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. Ability to stand for long periods.

Requirements

Candidates must be a Licensed Practical Nurse with an active practice permit in Alberta and hold a current BCLS-HCP certification. Post-graduate perioperative certification or completion of a CLPNA approved perioperative course is required.
